Juvenile Murderer Released & Allowed To Kill Again 13 Years Later
He killed his parents when he was 12 years old then killed again once he was released.
[Auburn, Alabama]
Derrill Richard Ennis (12) was found walking alongside a busy Alabama highway with a backpack. An officer picked him up under the impression he was a runaway child that needed to be returned to his house, but that was far from the case. As the ride progressed, the child revealed the parents they were about to be brought home to were actually deceased — and it was done by him.
He explained that he shot his mother, Dolly Flowers, in the face and beat her with a baseball followed by shooting his new stepfather, Eddie Flowers, in the face when he arrived home. His motive for killing his mother and stepfather stemmed from anger about a planned move. The 12-year-old lived with their bodies for a shocking two days and attended school as they decomposed. A search of his backpack after his arrest uncovered gun ammunition, a knife, and a to-do list that encompassed killing his three stepsisters.
